Resident Associations Excellence Awards Invites Nominations

Kenya Alliance of Resident Associations logoNairobi-based Kenya Alliance of Resident Associations (KARA)  invites nominations for its 4th Annual Resident Associations Excellence Awards (ARAEA).

The deadline for nominating candidates for the scheme that KARA says seeks to identify, reward and celebrate Resident Associations that have made a positive contribution to society across Kenya is November 26, 2021.

To submit entries applicants are required to access guidelines,backgrounde information and entry form online at kara.or.ke.

KARA's 4th Annual Resident Associations Excellence Awards invites entries“The awards are informed by the fact that Resident Associations play a very vital role in enhancing access to public services and improving quality of life in Kenya yet these efforts are rarely recognized and appreciated. Additionally, the awards serve to focus public attention on the importance of Resident Associations in promoting structured engagement with the government and other service delivery players as well as championing the interests of their members,” KARA says.

KARA says the winners and runners up shall receive certificates and trophies ‘at a colorful gala event attended by representatives of various Resident Associations, Government, Community Leaders and Media among other service delivery stakeholders’.

But in which categories are nominations to be made and what are they about?

  • Mazingira Award
    The purpose of this award is to recognize and reward residents association whose work has immensely contributed towards promotion of sustainable environmental management at the neighborhood level
  • Usalama Award
    The purpose of this award is to recognize and reward residents association whose work has immensely contributed towards promotion of security at the neighborhood level
  • Mawasiliano Award
    The purpose of this award is to recognize and reward residents association that has leveraged on creative communication approaches to ensure improved and structured communication among its membership.

  • Maji Award
    The purpose of this award is to recognize and reward residents association whose work has immensely contributed towards access to better water services for its members
